ASME SA249 This specification covers nominal-wall-thickness welded tubes and heavily cold worked welded tubes made from the austenitic steels, with various grades intended for such use as boiler, superheater, heat exchanger, or condenser tubes. TP304 steel, a common austenitic stainless steel containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
